Pueblo Medical Qigong
Chinese Energetic Medicine
Restore balance in mind and body
with Medical Qigong, a form of Chinese Medicine that helps the body settle and regulate, supporting its innate capacity for health and well-being.
What is Medical Qigong?
Medical Qigong is a centuries-old Chinese Medicine energy healing approach that supports the body’s natural ability to restore and maintain health by balancing the body’s energetic (Qi) systems. Qi (“chee”) refers to the vital energy that powers and coordinates the body’s functions.
Ideally, Qi is sufficient, unobstructed, and regulated. Stress, trauma, illness, grief, poor sleep, and unhealthy lifestyle patterns can create Qi disharmonies, which may show up as physical symptoms or emotional unrest.
A Medical Qigong treatment is delivered by a certified practitioner who uses the principles of Chinese Medicine to assess and rebalance a person’s energetic systems. Assessment involves not only understanding what disharmonies might be causing particular symptoms, but also what might have led to the creation of these disharmonies.
Over time, addressing disharmonies and their causes results in the body having more capacity to maintain and restore healthy functioning.
In addition to receiving treatments, clients are often given Qigong exercises or meditations to help strengthen and sustain the healing process between sessions.
Medical Qigong may be used for healing as well as preventive care. It can also be used alongside conventional and alternative medicine.

What is a Session Like?
A session, which last 60-75 minutes, involves a practitioner working one-on-one with the client. The session begins with a check-in so the practitioner can tailor the Qigong to fit the client’s needs.
For the treatment, the client rests comfortably, fully clothed, on a massage table. The practitioner works primarily off-body with some occasional gentle touching. Typically, people feel deeply relaxed.
A person might not notice any particular sensations during a session. However, they may briefly experience warmth, tingling, coolness, vibration, or twitching as the stagnant energy releases.
After the Qigong work, the practitioner and client discuss how the session contributed to the healing process and appropriate next steps. Typically, clients leave sessions with a calmer mind, easier breathing, less tightness in their body, and a sense of well-being.
